Supreme Court on Latin Aphorisms and Latin Phrases - A Digest of Latin Maxims and Latin Phrases

The word `maxima` contained in the phrase `maxima propositio`, is the source of the word `maxim` meaning principle or rule of conduct`. The word `Aphorism` is another one word meaning of the word `maxim`. This book is a Digest on `Latin` Aphorisms` and Latin Phrases`, in the nature of a dictionary. Latin aphorisms and Latin phrases used worldwide are common. This digest contains 149 (One hundred forty nine) Latin Aphorisms and 51 (fifty one) Latin Phrases along with their meanings. The fundamental principles in many Aphorisms carry synonymous meaning. The group of such aphorisms ranging from two to five in number, contain as many as 14 (fourteen) groups to reflect the meanings, and a group of phrase, have been included in this Digest. The fundamental principles of the Aphorisms and the Phrases have been applied in groups, in the findings of the judgments delivered by the Hon'ble supreme Court of India. This Digest also contains four maxims which have been recognised and stated by the Hon`ble Supreme Court of India, namely, Na Kalanjam Bhakshayet Do not eat fermented (state) food, Matsya Nyaya The bigger fish eats the smaller fish, Ta Khubzul Badlain Title to the property passing to the purchaser only when there is `exchange of equivalents`, and Thruqu-Ilahi Ka-Adadi Anfasil Makhluqali The ways of God are like unto the breathings of all created beings.
