EASY GUIDE TO EMPLOYEES' PROVIDENT FUND
Note : There is a rapid change in EFFO regarding registration and maintenance of EPF, EPS and EDLI during last years which necessitated for amendment of this book.
With effect from 1st Sept. 2014, the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India has brought into force several important amendments to the schemes framed under the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 ("EPF Act") i.e. (i) The Employees' Provident Funds Scheme, 1952 ("PF Scheme"); (ii) The Employees' Pension Scheme, 1995 ("Pension Scheme"); and (iii) The Employees' Deposit-linked Insurance Scheme, 1976 ("Insurance Scheme").The wage ceiling for an employee to be eligible for the PF Scheme has been increased from INR 6'500 per month to INR 15,000 per month. On 1 October 2014, Prime Minister of India launced universal account number (UAN) for Employees covered by EPFO to enable PF number portability. The latest EPF withdrawal rules are effective from 10 February 2016.In every Chapters of this book, We have tried to present the provisions of EPF & MP Act, rules and regulations in a simple and easy to understand manner.
